Asha’s Art – The Marble Women-
I love to paint, acrylics is my medium of choice and the bigger the piece the better. After a visit to The Louvre, in Paris, France, i was inspired by two beautiful stone statues in the Michelangelo wing. They were both intriguing and fascinating and i loved the complexity and attention to detail the carvers must had had to be able to create such intricate and life like works of art. Having roughly sketched the ladies i decided that the bend and arches in their bodies almost mirrored each other and constructed a composition that had them laying side to side. Here is the finished piece, it measures at least 6ft by 8ft.
